I need help picking a bouquet(flowers/colors)?

I will be getting married next yr. on Halloween. My dress will be red. I'm looking at types of flowers and colors, I guess i can only do red or white. Unless someone has another idea. I like calla lily, roses, and stefanotis..oh and amayrllis is nice too.

But I'm not Martha Stewart and I'm a total dummy when it comes to planning this stuff. Please help. Any other wedding ideas will help alot.

I need help picking a bouquet(flowers/colors)?
Congratulations on your impending marriage! You will be very surprised to find the wide variety of flowers that could look terrific in your bouquet. Do you want your bridesmaids to carry smaller versions of your bouquet or something very different? I suggest you florist shop and look for flowers that provide a nice contrast to your red gown. A professional florist is trained to be creative, helpful, and work within your budget. Good luck! P.S. Did you ever attend a wedding at which you adored the flowers? Ask the bride where she shopped and she will also find it a compliment.
Reply:I would go with a mixture of reds, yellows, oranges and greens. Since you are wearing red, you would want flowers with just a hint of red in them....

There are calla lillies with red around the edges and the flower itself is more orange or yellow. There are also roses this way. I think steganotis is only white.

But I think the warm colors with the greenery would look great for a fall wedding and when I think of halloween, I think of candy corn, and those are the colors involved.

Good luck, and I hope I helped!
Reply:i wish i could help you more but i am right with you. What i would do is go to a florist (or more the one) and get their professional opinion.
Reply:do the calla lilies...they are elegant and beautiful
Reply:I did a 2-dozen simple red rose bouquet and it was perfect. Don't limit yourself to red/white. You could do red/brown, red/black, red/yellow, red/champagne. A red dress with yellow roses would look nice.

Instead of a Halloween theme, you can do autumn leaves which are red/yellow/orange/brown.

The florist can offer suggestions, just be sure to tell them what your budget is and don't let them talk you into spending more.

Reply:Why the red dress? I would go more traditional with an ivory or white dress. Then you could have deep rust, orange and beige bouquet depicting Holloween colors. Go traditional, as you will end up being much happier than with a red dress on Holloween.
Reply:i love lillies, they are my favorite flower ever. For halloween i would go more orangish because they do have an orange calla lily.

only instead of pink around the stems you could wrap orange or even black i suppose since it's on the holiday.
Reply:Red and orange roses with some greenery. You can do the green hydrangas, red and orange roses too. That would go well with halloween.

This last one may be your best bet. You can order a box of mini callas, or large and then put them all together and tie with a ribbon. This will be cheap and very elegant and good for halloween. Scroll down to the orange, you can add red or brown to make it look really good. You can get airbrushed or solid color.

HOpe this helps.
Reply:yellow would work, and obviously white.

Greenery mixed in - fancy leaves and such would add some colour.
Reply:why not red and black with pearls and babybreath red roses and white callas. very pretty yet stays with your season.
Reply:A good florist should be able to help you, but remember this is a business and their main concern is to make money. Don't have them push a less expensive flower on you. Example:

I would say Roses and they would say Freesia

I would say jasmine they would say sweet pea

Good Luck
