How can I make my own Bouquet?

I dont want to spend a bunch of money on my bouquet because I am just doing a very very small thing with 9 guests. I DO want fresh pink flowers, a small bouquet, I just dont know HOW to make the bouquet. Any suggestions on how to assemble it? Other than just rolling it together with some ribbon? Any web tutorials or instructions or what to buy would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Reply:Your library may have a DVD or video on flower arrangement (mine does, anyway.) Or you could call local community colleges to see if they have a class. Congratulations!

Basically though, for a very simple, classic bouquet, cut the stems to all the same length - approx. 10 - 12" long. Using floral tape, secure the stems together in a bunch. Then, cut 2 yards of your fav. ribbon and wrap around the stems.





Buy some inexpensive ribbon of the same size to experiment with :-)
Reply:Since you're having a very small wedding I think that it would be better for you to get a bouquet at a shop because they have a larger variety of choices and kno how to keep it fresh for the wedding. I think you could probably find a decently priced shop so you're not spending a fortune. If you make your own bouquet there's a bigger chance of something going wrong. Either way I hope you have a wonderful wedding.

I would suggest going to the craft store and buying some fake flowers that are as close to the fresh flowers that you will be using the day of. If you are using fresh pink roses go buy some fake pink roses. They don't have to be good fakes as long as they are close at least in shape to what you will be using.





Then you can take them home and try shapes and sizes over and over again until you are satisfied and practice as many times as you want until the big day. Save the mockup and use it as a template to copy that morning when you go buy your fresh flowers.





You will know without spending money on many fresh practice flowers if you need a florist or not. If nothing else it will come in handy for the rehersal! :)
