Can I somehow grow roses from seeds from a bouquet given me?

I have saved a dried bouquet of roses that means a lot to me and would like to grow roses from that exact bouquet...Does anyone know if this works? If it is possible, if you've done it, then how? Thanks in advance for your help...

Can I somehow grow roses from seeds from a bouquet given me?
If the roses are already dried, you can't get anything out of them now. It's hardly likely that they have formed a seed pod (called hips) in a bouquet.

You CAN sometimes get the rose in the bouquet to let out roots, and can plant those. I know a lady that has a couple of rose bushes outside her door, all from roses she was given and which she rooted. They always won't do it, but worth a try.

As for these, sorry -- you'll just have to enjoy them as they are now, and try to keep your memories.
Reply:If they're dried already, they can't. Really sorry.
Reply:It is too late for those roses, but an idea would be to take them to a rose grower, ask them to suggest roses the same as or similar to those used in the bouquet, and then order a few bushes of those roses for your garden.

Can you preserve a whole bouquet of roses with the babies breath and all,or does it have to be the roses alone

my bf just sent me a beautiful bouquet of roses and i would love to preserve them! i just dont know if i can preserve the whole thing or if i have to just preserve the roses. n e advice is helpful and taken.

Can you preserve a whole bouquet of roses with the babies breath and all,or does it have to be the roses alone
You can dry the whole bouquet but not sure if the babies breath will be durable.

Hang up side down in a very dry place
Reply:Oh by all means, dry the whole bouquet. If anything, the baby's breath are likely to stand up better than the roses. Can can actually buy dried baby's breath.

How to dry a rose bouquet?

I have a beautiful bouquet of long stem red roses that my husband gave me for Valentines Day. So far I've kept them fresh by putting them in the fridge every night and they still look brand new. Now I want to dry them though and use them as decoration in my living room.

I know that usually you are supposed to hang them upside down in a dry, dark place to dry them, but we live in a very humid area (right now the thermometer says the humidity is at 56%).

Would hanging them upside down in a dark place still work or is there some other trick I need to know?

Oh, and FYI, I live in North Africa and we do not have arts and crafts stores here. Any tricks would have to be something simple that I can do at home without having to buy anything special.

How to dry a rose bouquet?
I live in a humid area as well.Hanging them upside down in a dry ,dark area are the usual instructions but I have found that it is also important to hang them where there is good air circulation. The most important parts are not in direct sunlight, hanging upside down and in a warm area with good air circulation. The air helps prevent mold.I live on the coast of British Columbia ,Canada and I have had good results that way.GOOD LUCK !!
Reply:hang then upside down in a closet/washroom. after theyve hung for a week, maybe two, spray them with shilac (spelling?). let them dry real good before you put them in a vase or whatever youre gonna do.
Reply:The answer above is right. If you don't want to by shellac, hair spray works, too.

How much do a bouquet of flowers usually cost?

im not talking about cheap flowers, a bouquet that smells nice and looks pretty... what are the price ranges?

How much do a bouquet of flowers usually cost?
$40 - $60
Reply:I get nice ones for $7 to $11 at Trader Joes. They often have the Stargazer Lilies in the mix that are quite fragrant.

Depending on the time of year they change what flowers are in their bouquets...best ones for the $$ i have found so far.
Reply:about $18.00-$40.00 dollors....... it depends of what kind of flowers they are....
Reply:Anywhere from $5.oo to $500.00 depends on where you shop, but you can usually find what you are looking for in like a grocery store for around $20.00
Reply:You're lookin at about 30 -60 bucks.. depending on type of flowers used, size.. and the florist.
Reply:generally around $60 US
Reply:Depends on what yur lookin for, love. Can vary from 3-12$ or even 20-70$ I think that's a bit scurvy but I don't make the rules.
Reply:It depends on what type of flowers and if they are in season, what part of the country you live in and what type of store you buy them from.

I go to the market here in Western Michigan and i can get a dozen perfect roses almost any color for anywhere between $9.99-$14.

If you get a mixed bouquette it is around $7-$10.

You can add on about $5 to these prices if you get them right at the florists and they are never in any better quality.

Reply:You can spend around $20 at a Costco or Sam's Club on a beautiful, large bouquet of flowers. That is if you have a membership, of course.

How can I save flowers from a bouquet?

I receive flowers from my boyfriend who is in the Army and currently deployed. I have tried drying a few of the flowers from my first 3 bouquets. But the last few because of the weather and humidity haven't turned out so well. These flowers mean a ton and more to me and I would love to be able to save some from each bouquet. A friend told me to put them in vinegar in a closed jar. She was not sure if that was all you put in it or not. If anyone knows how to do this I would really appreciate any help given!! Thanks!

How can I save flowers from a bouquet?
there is a silicone white sandy powder you can get at Michael's or JoAnn's///// place the flowers in a box or

something that has a lip and gently pour the sand over

them and leave them for a few days
Reply:Why not hang them upside down 'til dry? Some will look horrid, and some will do fine. When they're completely dry break each one up into petals. Put them in a really pretty glass jar. Potpourri! You can add essential oils to them. They will keep forever.
Reply:To save them, put them in a vase with a little bit of sugar. (bout a tsp or two) and make sure the stems are cut in a slant.

What is the best way to preserve my wedding bouquet?

I was married this last weekend. My bouquet consists of hydrangea and roses, what steps do I need to take to dry it while keeping it looking beautiful afterward?

What is the best way to preserve my wedding bouquet?
Hang them upside down making sure you wrap them with thin paper so they dont get dusts. When they are dry, buy a special frame that has space inside that resembles an aquarium but not as deep and place your dry bouquet there. Arrange them as if they are in a vase. Actually, here in Australia, there are people that preserve wedding bouquets and frame them. I don't where you are but its worth asking around.
Reply:Borax is used to preserve flowers.

How can I keep a bouquet of roses?

i just got a bouquet from my bf, and i wanted to keep them forever. could i hang them upside down and spray them with hairspray, and then after a couple of days, put them in one of those shadow boxes to hang on my wall? or would that not work?

....only people who have had experience, please

How can I keep a bouquet of roses?
i tryed it with a single rose, it worked but i didnt use hair spray and they go real crispy so handle with care, give it a go youre only going to chuck them out good luckxxx
Reply:Try to spread out the petals, and let it dry a little. When the tips begin to get dry, hang the bouquet upside down from the ceiling. You can spray the outside of them with hairspray at this point.

Try to make sure the petals are spread far enough apart that the insides can get dry too or else they will rot.

After 1 or 2 days hanging upside down, spray the entire bouquet with hairspray, but DONT soak it. Let the spray completely dry. Every morning respray it for about a week, but be very conservative about how much you put on. Then leave it hanging for a few days.

After this, you should be able to put your bouquet in a vase and keep it forever :]
Reply:yes that works just dry out for a week upside down spray with hairspray upside down dry, and repeat..... then you can keep them for ever. but they are extra fragile
Reply:A flower press...

Otherwise you may have to have them professionally preserved like using liquid nitrogen or something
Reply:some craft stores sell a spray that will kind of 'freeze' the flowers into place. whenever i tried drying them with hairspray it didn't work that well.

When given a bouquet of flowers, do you change the water everyday, or just add water to it?

my new boyfriend is so sweet, he sends me flowers everyother week. I want to keep them in good condition, but its really tiring to change the vase water everyday, and sometimes i dont really have alot of time for that. However, I want them to last a long time and show him that I really appreciate them. What are some tips to keep bouquet flowers lasting?

When given a bouquet of flowers, do you change the water everyday, or just add water to it?
I usually make sure there are no leaves below the water line so the vase is less likely to get slimy. Then I put about 1/2 of the packet of plant food that comes with the flowers (or a little Sprite) in the vase along with cool water. I check the water level every day or so and add water as needed. On about the 4th or 5th day I change out the water, discard any wilted flowers, rinse the stems, clean the vase out, and put the remaining plant food in the vase along with cool water and the remaining flowers. I check the water levels as before and keep those babies going as long as possible.

Some flowers have a longer life as cut flowers than others. Roses and tulips generally have a relatively short life, but carnations often last for quite a long time.
Reply:drop an aspirin into the water
Reply:change the water everyday.it will kepp them fresh and beautiful.
Reply:Idd, try dissolving small amounts of aspirin, it keeps em mint :)

Also, it should work if you only change the water every 3 days or so...
Reply:I don't know if this is the "appropriate" thing to do, but I just add water to the vase rather than completely changing the water.

I've also heard that adding some clear soda such as sprite or seven-up to the water helps them last longer. The sugar helps feed them.

Try this website for some good tips on keeping flowers fresh:

http://www.aboutflowers.com/floral_b3.ht...
Reply:Be sure that there are no leaves inside the vase, and in the water. This will avoid any bad smell. Plus this helps to have clear, nice water for longer.

You will need, thoug, to chance the water every 2-3 days for the flowers and bouquet in general to stay pretty. When changing water, try to rinse the stems (just a little water to clean them) Add an ice cube or two (depending on the amount of water and size fo your bouquet) to the new water, and you are set to go! Your flowers will be pretty for longer. It has worked for me :-) Good luck!
Reply:When getting flowers there's usually a pachet that goes with them. Put that into the water and just keep adding to the water or you wont get the full use out of that pachet. Spray some hair spray over it all and it should last 2 weeks. I think Mythbusters busted the asprin idea. Hairspray was the only one that worked.
